Meghan Moore Wood ’95
Meghan Moore Wood ’95 and her husband, Steven, travelled with Hope Humanitarian to the Ugandan settlement of Kyaka as part of their efforts to raise awareness for various refugee crises in the world. Some of their projects included building over 100 tower gardens for families to grow their own healthy food and two permanent shelters for in-need families. They also brought hundreds of books and learning resources for the local preschool.
During her time there, Meghan taught women's health classes and a class to teens about maturation. Megan said “it was a profound education to witness their scarcity and I am still struggling with the guilt of my first world abundance, like going to Trader Joes and being able to fill my cart with whatever I want. I was struck by their resilience and spirit -- and the kids were just unbelievably sweet and gorgeous..."
Thank you, Megan, for helping to make the world a better place!
