Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award
Congratulations to Megan Farrell '03, the 2022 recipient of the Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award. The Young Alumni Award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has graduated in the past 20 years and whose achievements and contributions have positively impacted his/her profession, community and John Carroll.
Following graduation from Cabrini College, Megan embarked on a career in pharmaceutical sales. Driven by a desire to have the patient remain the foremost priority, Megan's work for noted companies such as Allergan, Nestle Health Science and Bristol Myers Squibb, where she currently serves as Senior Territory Business Manager in Hematology Oncology, has garnered numerous regional and national sales and growth awards. She has also been selected to serve as mentor and coach to new employees due to her track record of integrity and success.
Since 2008, Megan has worked closely with two non-profit organizations whose causes are close to her heart: the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). After losing her father, Steve, to suicide in 2016, Megan began working to create awareness and remove the stigma surrounding this issue and mental health, supporting AFSP's mission by serving as Walk Team Chairperson for the Washington, D.C. and Birmingham National Out of the Darkness Walks, and competing in the Chicago Marathon as a member of ASFP's Team Race for Hope.
Megan has also raised over $60,000 as an LLS Team in Training marathon runner. Megan has also served as a Team in Training mentor, helping other runners achieve their goals.
Patriot Service Award
Congratulations are also in order for the 2022 recipient of the Patriot Service Award - Patty Dubyoski '73. The Patriot Service Award is presented to an alumna/us who has given back significantly to The John Carroll School through his or her time, talent or treasure.
For over 20 years, Patty has given back to John Carroll in a variety of ways, including writing discretionary medication orders for the Health Suite. Without that service, our school nurses would not have been able to administer any medicines to students at school. While many practitioners charge a fee to schools for this service, Patty helped the school each year free of charge. She wrote her first order in 1998 and continued to support our nursing staff until her retirement in January 2021.
Patriot Pride Awards
Finally, John Carroll is proud to present three alumni with the 2022 Patriot Pride Awards: Jordan Lally '98, Elaina Morris '94 and Larry Noto '94. The Patriot Pride Award is presented to those individual(s) who display outstanding achievement in their career or long-term service to the community.
Jordan Lally '98 founded the Ed Lally Foundation in memory of his father, Ed. He, along with his band, Big Infinite, have taken part in developing educational experiences for middle and high schools, including John Carroll, regarding mental health and the power of expression. During these programs, Jordan uses his knowledge and experience as a certified meditation teacher and touring musician to shed a light on mental health issues and ways to maintain mental wellness.
Elaina Morris '94 is an accomplished CEO, business owner, and community leader with over 20 years’ experience in various industries. Elaina has launched several hospitality businesses, including WiggleWorks Kids and Ascend Hospitality Group (AHG), the premiere hospitality company based in the Northwest, which she also co-owns. Elaina also supports local education and associated charitable organizations. One of the many ways she gives back to her community is by serving as a mentor to female and minority-led businesses.
After his father passed away in May 2015, Larry Noto '94 left his career in marketing to take over Music Land, which was recently selected as winner of the Business of the Year Award by the Town of Bel Air Economic Development Commission. Music Land is one of the largest full-service music stores in the Mid-Atlantic region. Larry is also a stand-up comedian and the author of “The Opening Act: Comedy, Life, and the Desperate Pursuit of Happiness." Larry also serves on the board for the Maryland Center for the Performing Arts and the Harford County Arts and Culture Advisory Board.
Congratulations again to all of this year's esteemed alumni award winners! We look forward to recognizing them at the Patriots Week Mass and at a special Alumni Awards Reception on April 29.
